Over the past period (2025), we have had numerous conversations with artists (DJs) from the regions of Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, and surrounding areas. Bringing these artists together is part of a long-term vision, not only for SEGGS but also for other projects and activities that will take shape in the coming years.
We are aware that SEGGS represents only a small part of a broader (kink) community. There are countless events that rely on talented artists to deliver high-quality musical experiences to their audiences. The question is how to organize this in a professional and sustainable way.
How do we make our support visible? How do we communicate clearly about what we do and ensure the right level of public exposure? And how do we build constructive, long-lasting collaborations with both artists and organizers? These are the topics we have explored in recent and highly valuable discussions.
This year will focus heavily on bringing people together and exploring the possibilities of forming a shared collective within this niche. A collective where talented DJs and organizers can connect, exchange ideas, explore new opportunities, and establish clear, workable guidelines. Our goal is to develop a sustainable structure that strengthens both artists and organizers.
We believe that through these developments, there is a real opportunity for the kink and EDM communities to move closer together. We expect mutual understanding to grow, the combination of both worlds to become more powerful, and long-standing taboos to be challenged. This creates room for renewal, inclusivity, and a culture rooted in creativity and respect.
We also believe that the EDM scene (Electronic Dance Music) can have a significant and positive impact on how the broader public perceives alternative cultural events. Organizers within this niche are still too often judged based on misconceptions, leading to the false idea that these initiatives fall outside what is considered mainstream. In reality, these communities focus on building meaningful connections, fostering creativity, and creating safe, respectful environments for self-expression. That is the narrative we want to change.
By connecting the strength, visibility, and open-minded nature of the EDM scene with this community, we see a real opportunity to shift public perception. We want to demonstrate that diversity, creative expression, and respectful collaboration are not exceptions but the foundation of everything we do.
